Henderson übernimmt Gelb von Greipel auf der Insel
Der Neuseeländer Greg Henderson hat die zweite Etappe der Tour of Britain gewonnen und zugleich die Führung in der Gesamtwertung übernommen.
Der für die britische Sky-Mannschaft fahrende 34-Jährige setzte sich nach 160,5 Kilometern rund um Stoke-on-Trent im Sprint einer Spitzengruppe vor dem Schweizer Michael Albasini (HTC-Columbia) und dem Deutsch-Australier Heinrich Haussler (Cervélo) durch.
Hinter dem Niederländer Koen De Kort (Skil–Shimano) belegte der für die italienische ISD-Neri-Mannschaft fahrende Osthesse Patrik Sinkewitz Platz fünf. Auftaktsieger André Greipel (HTC-Columbia) kam mit dem großen Feld mit einem Rückstand von 10:40 Minuten ins Ziel und musste das Gelbe Trikot des Gesamtführenden an Henderson abgeben.
